This imposing government building features a characteristic Second Empire mansard roof crowned by a large central dome with a clock and ornate dormer windows. The symmetrical facade is articulated with colossal pilasters, rusticated arched ground-floor openings, and elaborate sculptural ornamentation typical of French academic Beaux-Arts influence. The building, identified as the Secretaría de Comunicaciones in Buenos Aires, exemplifies the grand institutional architecture favored in Argentina during the early twentieth century.
