IMG 0110

Federal · Early 19th century · Built ~1820

Original file name: IMG 0110

This two-story Federal-style commercial row building features a flat painted brick facade with symmetrically arranged six-over-six double-hung sash windows flanked by louvered shutters, all painted in a contrasting red. A central second-floor door with a small landing suggests an original exterior stair or balcony access, a common feature of early Georgetown commercial buildings. The ground floor has been altered with a later storefront insertion, but the upper residential portion retains its early 19th-century Federal character typical of the M Street corridor in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
