Original file name: IMG 0125
This three-story painted brick rowhouse displays characteristic Italianate features including a prominent bracketed cornice at the roofline, arched window hoods with decorative moldings, and tall double-hung sash windows arranged in a symmetrical three-bay facade. The elaborately pedimented door surround with carved ornamental details and pilasters reflects the Italianate taste for decorative embellishment. The flat roofline and overall massing are typical of urban Italianate townhouses common in Washington, D.C. during the mid-to-late nineteenth century.
