This is the five-story pagoda of Senso-ji temple in Asakusa, Tokyo, featuring characteristic Wayo Buddhist architecture with dramatically tiered, upward-curving tiled roofs diminishing in size toward the apex. The structure is painted in deep vermilion lacquer with white plaster walls and capped by a tall golden sorin finial, a hallmark of Japanese Buddhist pagoda design. The base level incorporates a broad, double-eaved entrance hall with large black lacquered doors adorned with gold fittings, supported by bold red columns with elaborate bracket systems (tokyō).
